アムステルダムを拠点に活動するグラフィックデザイナー。ブックデザインを専門とし、栄誉あるグーテンベルク賞を歴代最年少で受賞。2014年にはヨハネス・フェルメール賞（オランダ王立芸術賞）を授与され、同賞の選考委員会は全会一致でボームを推薦。現在、世界でもっとも有名なブックデザイナーの一人。代表作は、«Nederlandse postzegels 1987+88» «Irma Boom: The Architecture Of The Book» «WEAVING AS METAPHOR by Sheila Hicks» «Chanel: Livre D'Artistes»ほか多数。

Irma Boom（イルマ・ボーム）
グラフィックデザイナー。アムステルダムを拠点に活動し、主にブックデザインを手がける。1991年にイルマ・ボーム・オフィス設立。これまでに手がけたコミッションワークは、アムステルダム国立美術館、実業家パウル・フォン・フリンシンゲン（1990-2006年）、インサイド・アウトサイド、ニューヨーク近代美術館、クラウス王子基金、プラダ財団、マセラティ、ヴィトラ、NAi出版、国連、テート・モダン、シャネルなど多数。1992年以降はアメリカのイエール大学でシニア・クリティックを務め、世界各地でレクチャーやワークショップを開催している。栄誉あるグーテンベルク賞を歴代最年少で受賞。2014年のヨハネス・フェルメール賞（オランダ王立芸術賞）受賞。

Irma Boom
Graphic designer. Based in Amsterdam, Irma Boom works mainly on book design. Founded Irma Boom Office in 1991. Commission work has included the National Museum of Fine Arts, Amsterdam, businessman Paul von Flensingen (1990-2006), Inside Outside, Museum of Modern Art, New York, Prince Klaus Foundation, Fondation Prada, Maserati, Vitra, NAi Publishing, the United Nations, Since 1992 he has been a Senior Critic at Yale University in the U.S. and has lectured and given workshops around the world. He is the youngest ever recipient of the prestigious Gutenberg Prize and was awarded the 2014 Johannes Vermeer Prize (Royal Dutch Art Prize).
