FRAGILE BOOKSは、オランダ人デザイナー イルマ・ボームのライフワークである赤いミニブックの次回第４弾（日本語で来春刊行予定）を企画制作しています。この度、ミニブック刊行前のプレイベントとして、来る6月6日（金）に「ドーバーストリートマーケット ギンザ」の7階をおかりして、イルマ・ボームの来日トークイベント開催が決定しました。イルマ・ボーム本人が来日する貴重な機会ですので、ぜひお運びください。

概要：
ブックデザインの世界で「本の女王」と称されるオランダ人デザイナー、イルマ・ボームが来日します。シャネルやマルタン・マルジェラ、ジル・サンダーなど世界のトップブランドの本も手がける彼女は、自らの活動を「Book Activist（ブック・アクティビスト）」と名乗り、「紙の本の価値が問われる今日だからこそ、ブックデザインに使命感を持っている」と話します。彼女にとって、本を編集したりデザインすることは単なる仕事ではなく「ライフ」なのです。
今回の来日記念トークイベントでは、時間のゆるす限り、最近手がけた本の紹介や、本づくりのプロセスや裏話なども披露してもらいたいと思います。来年2026年の初夏には、彼女のアイコニックな赤いミニブックシリーズから4冊目となる最新刊「Book Activist」（企画：FRAGILE BOOKS）を日本語翻訳版として刊行予定なので、そのあたりの話題にも及ぶかもしれません。どうぞご参加ください。

Overview:
"It is precisely because the value of paper books is being questioned today that I work with a sense of mission in book design," says Irma Boom. Who will be coming to Japan as a "Book Activist". She has been in high demand from the world's top fashion brands, including Chanel and Jil Sander and works with artists like Martin Margiela, Pierre Huyghe.
At this special event, she will talk about her book-making process, behind-the-scenes stories. A fourth, new, BOOM catalogue 'Irma Boom: Book Activist’, which will focus on the urgency of the analogue book, will be published in Japanese. It will accompany her exhibition at ATELIER MUJI GINZA in early summer 2026.
